I have been hearing a lot about the upcoming holiday shopping season on the news lately. There has also been a lot written about it in the local paper. Here's what they are saying. There will be great deals out there this season, but don't think you're going to get better deals if you wait to buy. Most retailers got caught with a lot of inventory last year and few buyers. You may remember that they started slashing prices during the season because inventory wasn't moving. Well, they got stuck with a lot of inventory when it was all said and done. So. . . they have learned their lesson and will do things differently this season.
Retailers will not have as much inventory as last year. The sales will be good, but when you see a deal that you like, you better take advantage of it because there likely won't be inventory for a better sale later. What I am hearing is that those procrastinators who scored big last holiday shopping season will be burnt if they try it again this season! Makes sense. We'll see if that's how it turns out.
